This book is a fictional story by E.L. Konigsberg, set in the well know museum of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in the famous New York City. I read this book for my literature class this year, and really enjoyed it. It was a favorite in my class.
Claudia Kincaid and Jamie (the main characters of this story) live a normal, although boring, life. Claudia is tired of being normal, and needs some sort of adventure in her life. She makes plans to run away with Jamie. Not to just any place, but to the one and only Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Through the scary and exciting moments, they face challenges including hiding from the museum guards, and getting to Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler. Even smaller problems like running low on money, or trying to blend in with the crowd.
You can see sparks of comedy, action, and intense moments throughout the story, keeping you reading. I would recommend this story to any kid who likes to read! Nothing inappropriate or questionable about this story. A great read aloud to younger kids, but even older kids can enjoy this great book.
