Here at James Street Review, our goal is to provide a space where children from around 10 – 16 years of age can talk about the books they love or perhaps discover their next favorite, with adults also chiming in from time to time. Children can be voracious readers (we have five of them ourselves), and keeping them in books is a constant challenge. We’re hoping this site will give you a lot of great book recommendations.
We always recommend that you keep track of and look into the books your child reads. Every family has different comfort levels with various types of material. This website is not intended to be a screen or a filter for content, simply a place where kids can recommend books they enjoy.
As of this time, all of the book reviews are submitted voluntarily by the young people who write the reviews. None of the reviews have been paid for by the author or publisher, and none of the books have been received for free in return for a review.
We always suggest that you purchase your books from a local bookstore. If you’re in Lancaster, PA, like us, you will want to check out Aaron’s Books in Lititz. If you have a wonderful local bookstore in your area, let us know and we’ll start a list of recommended book sellers.
That said, if you purchase a book through the links on the site, it will take you through our Amazon affiliate account, ensuring that a portion of your purchase helps support the work we do here at James Street Review.
Check out our most recent reviews, and happy reading!
A huge thanks to our friends at Sanderson Images for the paper airplane header photo.
